The votes are in and the industry has spoken, naming best installer, production supervisor, project manager and sales rep

Best sales rep

Bryan Abrisz, president, The Snead Co.

Bryan Abrisz’ career in the glass industry began in 1989, when he was hired to work in manufacturing at EFCO Corp. “Because EFCO understood the importance of promoting from within, I was able to apply for a job in estimating, and was hired on as a curtain-wall and storefront estimator,” he says. “This position offered me the opportunity to learn about products and how they were utilized in the industry.”

Abrisz served in a variety of positions during his eight years with EFCO, including serving as part of a national account sales team and as a customer service representative. “During this time [as a customer service rep], I was able to gain an understanding of the selling aspect of EFCO products, and a more in-depth understanding of what an independent representative’s function is,” he says.

Abrisz joined The Snead Co., an independent manufacturer’s sales representative for EFCO, in 1997, moving to Richmond, Va. He purchased the company in July 2011, and currently heads up the sales representation for seven glass and glazing companies: All-Lite; Americlad/Quality Metalcrafts; EFCO, a Pella Co.; High Standard, Inc.; Inkan; Schott Architectural Glass; and Solar Seal.

Abrisz says that a key to success in the glass industry “as in any industry, is being innovative, dedicated, and knowledgeable. Knowing your products, good customer relations, and understanding the construction process are very important.”

What is a memorable challenging job/project you have completed? The Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C. This project required more attention than most due to a tight schedule, and [the fact] that it was a design/ build project. Being involved in the design process with the architect, general contractor and glazing subcontractor—and being part of a team—took my level of interaction to new heights.
